Another online poker room has joined the Mac ranks. GR88 has announced the launch of its new beta Mac poker site, and besides from that they will also have their casino available for Mac. Peter Karrol of IAM, the marketing agency for GR88, made the announcement. The irony is that Karrol is a former executive with Bodog, which is a site that is not yet Mac friendly.
Karroll said, “With the growing popularity of Apple products, we feel this will be a great opportunity to open new doors and offer our games to an even wider audience.”
Sites such as PokerStars, PartyPoker and Full Tilt Poker are already compatible with Macs. With the continued development and exploding popularity of the iPhone and iPod and the fact that the Mac laptops have a stranglehold on the $1200+ laptop market, players who own these high end machines can expect to have more and online poker sites open up to them. All poker sites must finally understand that the Mac is here to stay and affording users equal access will result in more traffic and cash.
