PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) has announced some of its stops. The NAPT is just one of many events sponsored by PokerStars, which is a largest online poker site in the world. Some of the tour stops will be taped for broadcast in the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom. Fans in the U.S. can see the tour on ESPN.
Stops for this year’s NAPT include the Bicycle Casino, Los Angeles, CA from March 5-10, 2011 and Mohegan Sun in Connecticut from April 8-13, 2011. Both stops will offer a big Championship Main Event and a Bounty Shootout. A shootout was recently held at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. It featured a $5,000 buy-in that included 216 players and it was very popular.
In this year’s Main Event at the PCA, Galen Hall won $2.3 million and Andrew Chen won the Bounty Shootout capturing a total prize of $269,000 and notching a magnificent double knockout of Shaun Deeb and Michael Binger. It took Chen eight hours, a few huge bluffs and a lot of mental strength and skill to outlast the other 215 players and take home all of the prize money. This all-or-nothing event was a real crowd pleaser.
